Doug Ormston - UK

Oh by the way it was an excellent trip to Chile. I enjoyed it thoroughly, probably the best overall accommodations I have ever had on a bird trip. This along with good food & wine, terrific birding made it most enjoyable.

Joe Thompson - USA

Just wanted to say that I thought Silverio did a good job, and was incredibly energetic... he is a lot of fun to be around, and I wish him well on his future tours. Aurelio, of course, did his usual excellent job both with food and with logistics, and I think my friends were very impressed with how much help he was in knowing the sites and helping out with everything in general.

Andy and Pamela Folkes - UK

Hi. Many thanks for a great trip. Thank you for your help in arranging it.
Regards

Alec Crawford - UK

My wife, Ann, and I were on the birding tour 17 July to 12 August and, without hesitation, have to say that it was one of the best trips that we have done concentrating on birding over the last 12 years or so. I am extremely grateful to you for loaning your binoculars for the Machu Pichu and Abra Malaga tour after my wife’s top of the range, latest model, Savrosky binos ceased to function when we were at MWC. Fortunately, the Americans on the trip had a spare pair which they lent us until our return to Cusco. On any birding trip the quality of the guide is paramount and in Alex and Silverio we had two of the best guides we have had anywhere. Their ability to spot and identify birds was fantastic. Kind regards and I hope we can put together another Peru trip – Alex and Silverio said northern Peru is a must!

Martin Sharp - Edmonton, Alberta, Canada

We just wanted to write to say how much we enjoyed our trips to Manu and Abra Malaga with Alex and Silverio in July/August. We have a couple of gifts we would like to send to them to thank them for all they did for us - but don't have their addresses, so we were wondering whether we could send them to you to pass onto the 2 of them? Please let me know if this would be possible.
Thanks for all your help setting up the trips

Martin Painter - Hong Kong

Hi Barry,
The Colombia trip was a great success, we only had a few 'dips' and everything went like clockwork. Silverio is like a bulldog, he never gives up. I have shared a folder of photos on Dropbox and added you to the list, so you can log on and have a peek. The three of us talked of arranging a custom tour down the track for the Northern Peru specials, maybe in 2018. We'll keep in touch on this.

Caroline and Robin Simpson - UK

We have been meaning to e-mail you since our return to thank you for helping to make our trip run so smoothly. From the moment we were picked up from the airport, our trip was truly fantastic. We cannot fault the standard of anything, accommodation was great and Silverio has to be one of the best guides we have ever had the good fortune to spend time with. His ability to locate the birds was amazing, he was great at keeping us informed as to what we would be doing each day (something guides seem to have trouble with on occasion) and he had a good sense of humour!! We liked Pantiacolla but think people who go there in the future should be made aware they need to take their own soft drinks or beer if they want to drink something other than water or juice. Our only other comment is that the hotel in Lima was a very good choice, being near the airport was a far better option and we liked the Limaq.

Many thanks and best wishes,

Colin and Rosemary Cheshire - UK

The organisation of this trip was incredibly efficient, [ due to Balvina's hard work?] In the whole trip there was only one tiny hiccup on the last day when the driver had been given the wrong pick up time. It was the smoothest trip we have ever been on and even a sudden change of flight time on Sat 22nd was dealt with immediately and the driver was there at Lima airport to take us to the hotel. Well done! Our guide for the majority of the trip was Silverio Duri and he is undoubtedly the best guide we have ever had. His knowledge and skills are unbeatable and we also enjoyed his company. Forest birding is hard and he was no doubt a little frustrated by our lack of expertise, but without him this would have been a much less rewarding experience; thank you Silverio! All the hotels used were very good and we were also pleased to have used the Limaq hotel in Lima which is much closer to the airport.

Cathy and Bruno Conjeaud - France

Thank you for this beautiful travel. All was perfect (as the first time). So thank you to Balvina and Barry. Our guides were very competent. And we had great exchanges with Richard, a very kind person. You may follow our adventures on Flickr - Bruno Conjeaud; I put on this website some of my pictures and I will send the best to Richard for Ohio Birding Festival. Andean Spirit Lodge is a very cool lodge specially with the possibility to go to see Condors.
Best regards

(Peggy) Lynn Gould - USA

We certainly enjoyed birding in Chile, and feel that there is so much more to see. The various guides, especially Eduardo and Christopher, were very thorough in finding the birds. We enjoyed many wonderful views, but as always happens some birds refuse to show themselves. Highlights were seeing the Austral Rail, several very nice views of Tapaculos, Canasteros, and Ground Tyrants, among other Chilean specialities. Gorgeous ducks and geese!
Thanks

Marc Griesheimer - France

This Birding Trip was very interesting. And this success is directly connected with the exceptional human qualities and knowledges of our Birding Guide Gustavo Bautista. With an unlimited patience, he was always ready to show and show us again elusive Birds in this very challenging environment. He is truly a Pearl.

Neil Burmester - USA

Thank you for making the arrangements to get us on (Colombia) trip. We had a great time. Silverio met and exceeded your generous praise of him in the website biography. It must take a very special person to be a group leader on a demanding trip like this.

Alistair Mc Given

Just got back from Peru. Trip with Alejandro went very well. Missed the warbling finch but saw all the other main targets. Alejandro said he only sees the finch about 20% of the time and it is easier in May/June. I found the slender-billed finch quite quickly at the site you gave me - thanks. There was also Peruvian Thick-knee there.

Victor Marshall - USA

First of all on behalf of the rest of our group, Joan, Joyce and David I would like to say a very big THANK YOU for what you did for us on our trip. I don't think we were your easiest group to take bird watching, but we may have been the funniest. Bet you have heard it said so many times before, but Silverio is a special person. His skills are breath-taking To actually watch him bring Thick-billed Miner from being just a spot on the top of a distant rock, to being within 20 feet of us was something I will never ever forget. The man is also charming... :-) With the constant "Victor come here", as he found me a better position for a photograph.

Angie and C-G - Sweden

Just wanted to send a bit of very positive feedback now that we are back in the swing of things at home. We both really enjoyed the Manu experience (and the Pre-tour Apurimac bit). Everything went like clockwork. The birding was sometimes tough going (as in not a lot happening), as perhaps to be expected at this time of the year (especially in the Manu NP) but on other occasions it was terrific. Silverio was brilliant. Sharp, motivated and tremendously hard-working in the field and good company afterwards. 10/10 for the checklists...very comprehensive and well laid out. We were also really impressed with all of our dealings with your office. Thanks.

Subhash and Marty - USA

Marty and I had a wonderful trip to Peru and we were delighted with all the arrangements you made. The hotels were great, the food quality and customization exceeded our expectations, and the guides made the travelling really easy and comfortable. Each of the guides was a great birder and knowledgeable about the historical sites. Each of them made every effort to customize the daily activities to our needs. We ended up seeing 257 species of birds of which 158 were lifers. We may have got more species but we really appreciated how each guide took time to locate each bird for both of us.

Jean Paul showed us the most species in a day -57, and the boat trip at Pucusana was a real treat. We enjoyed our day with him and if we had another day in Lima, we would have seen many more species. Normally we like to fly in a day earlier than the trip start and we were sorry we did not do that on this trip.

Gustavo, despite being much younger than us, was a delightful companion for 7 days. He also took great pains to find as many endemics for me as he could. We saw 110 species and may have got more except for my inability to hike at 14,000 foot elevation! The trip to Machu Picchu was a delight and Marty went back the next day to climb Wayna Picchu!

All in all, it was a trip we'll remember for a long time - wonderful sights, many unusual birds, royal treatment and great guides. This trip had a wide variety of experiences and your staff made great arrangements and everything went very smoothly. Thank you for all that.

Diana King - Australia

We thoroughly enjoyed our visits to Machu Picchu and to Ollantaytambo. We enjoyed the visit to Manu while we were there, but had we realized how difficult the ground transportation was, we might have well reconsidered making the trip at all. We appreciate the efforts of Silverio, Balvina and our drivers in doing all that they could to make the trips successful.

Ron Jensen - Canada

Hi Barry and Silverio, thanks for the attached trip report. I am going to have it printed and bound to remember this great trip.

Andrew Cockburn - Australia

Thanks Barry: It was a sensational trip, and Alex is a great guide

Dr. Aulikki Nahkola Oxford UK

A somewhat belated thank you for this trip report. Quite a trip it was too. Just a few comments: The organisation was excellent throughout. Aurelio is worth his weight in gold: much of his cooking was better than what we got in Lodges (which was good as well), and more to the point, he could turn his hand to anything. Silverio is a very good guide. As a rule, I prefer a 'local guide' any way, rather than somebody who flies in and rattles off the latest lumps and splits, but does not know which plants are poisonous to touch... Silverio knows his stuff, and also he managed to stay as the leader, when some person(s) wanted to usurp the tours for their own particular goals… Finally, my personal 'extension' to Muyuna Lodge worked out perfectly - so thank you for arranging that. The Lodge was very well run, clean, good food, and I had the senior bird guide, Moises, all to myself. Looking at the prices on the net, you also saved me a hefty sum! I may well come back to you for more similar suggestions. So many thanks again. I would really like to bird with Silverio again in the future.

Debbie and Joe Hilaire - Canada

From the moment we stepped off the plane in Chile, we were provided with an exceptional birding experience. Fernando Diaz was brilliant, taking care of us with confidence and skill. From the hotels, to the food and transportation, all was of a very high standard. The scenery and wines of Chile were the icing on the cake. Each day brought new and fantastic birds, never missing any. I have found over the years that my best birding experiences have been with the people who live and bird these places every day. You cannot go wrong by choosing an outfit like …Manu Expeditions…. and a guide like Fernando. I could not have asked for more.

Pete Cranston - Honorary Professor ANU, Canberra Emeritus, UC Davis, California

Yesterday George Olah gave his exit seminar and will hand in his PhD thesis this week at the Australian National University. This reminded me that I had been derelict in thanking you and your crew for a wonderful bird tour of Peruvian Amazon and Machu Picchu. I do so now, and also a request to pass on especial thanks to Balvina. Balvina was exceptional in her assistance with hospital, transport and hotel rearrangements, assisting my partner in Cuzco (she got to know all the taxi drivers between the city and the hospital) and in providing documentation for insurance. A gem.

Bill and Dave - UK

Dear Barry, A big thank you from me and Dave to all the staff at Manu tours they done a great job of extracting us from a difficult situation and Silverio is a top class tour guide

Howard Jolliffe - UK

Hi Barry: Just a quick email to say thanks for arranging a really excellent trip for the 4 of us, we all enjoyed it. The first part from Lima to Cuzco with you was very enjoyable & as you indicated Alex was an amazing birder so on the second leg we got to see lots of wonderful birds. Best wishes & thanks.

Dave & Sue Williamson - UK

Extremely successful - some fantastic birds and thanks again to Silverio for leading us through so successfully and safely.

Jan Smith - USA

Hi Barry, I am safely back at home after an absolutely great trip in Brazil. Hopefully Fred is getting to know his family again. Fred is just a great, amazing guy. I understand that he sent you some updates. My preliminary trip count is 821 species but I need to confirm.

Lynne Hertzog - USA

What a fabulous time we've had here in Peru! Gustavo and Elmer could not have been nicer or more thorough. And thank you for all the arrangements that you made for us - everything was perfect. Thanks for all your help. And I hope to be working with you again soon on a trip to Manu. Best

Shailesh Pinto - India

The trip was amazing and Alex Durand was fantastic. He was like the energizer bunny and kept on going. His birding skills were exceptional.
I'm hoping to do many more trips with Manu expeditions in the future.

Peter Bono - USA

Your staff (Balvina, Wendel) and our bird guide Alex were wonderful.  We enjoyed our half-day Laguna de Huacarpay excursion with Alex, and Wendel and Balvina kept us on schedule and "extracted" from Agua Calientes during the wildcat strike.

Bob Lamberton - UK

First of all, thank you for all your suggestions and your work on our 3 weeks in Peru and thanks to all who made this a genuinely wonderful experience: José Luis and Marco, in particular, but also Jean Paul and Manolo (I hope I have the driver's name right) in Lima. We were of course very much privileged to have private guides and drivers  From our point of view, things went extremely well -- and I know the experience of guiding  a single couple from the other side (from my Wings/Sunbird experience decades ago in Greece), and how difficult it is to offer such a tiny group the attention they want and not too much. Both José Luis and Marco negotiated that situation extremely well -- they were always available, made the program and the alternatives clear, and (especially when I was invalided out for a day in Ollantaytambo) proved flexible and helpful at every turn. Both bird guides were extremely good, and when they put on their history/archaeology-guide hats they were both credible and professional (and refreshingly reluctant to convey the familiar generalizations without appropriate qualification -- what we got at both Pachacamac and at the Sacred Valley sites was far more credible than what we overheard from the guides of other groups).

Stephen Eccles - UK

On the trip itself, my main comment is that Silverio was a superb leader!

Hemme Batjes - The Netherlands

Had a great tour with Silverio having seen more lifers than expected among them Golden-backed Mountain-tanager and 3 new species of Cotinga, a favorite family of mine. He is very focused in showing the endemic and special birds which in general are the ones I am liking to see the most.

Karen Hargreaves

Did this trip last year with you, EXCELLENT! One of the best & highly recommended.

Barry Ensminger New York

First many, many thanks for making our trip to Peru so memorable.  Everything went smoothly, the hotels were clean and well located, and our tours and trips were everything we had hoped for.  Thanks to you and Manu for making it happen.

What a fabulous time we've had here in Peru! Gustavo and Elmer could not have been nicer or more thorough. And thank you for all the arrangements that you made for us - everything was perfect.
Thanks for all your help.
And I hope to be working with you again soon on a trip to Manu. Best,

The Pony Express was wild! In all senses of the word – unbelievable scenery from horseback and the camp chef Aurelio produced first class food. Recommended

Brendan Hughes California, USA

Thanks for a great experience! We had a great time in the Manu. Klaus was our guide and did a wonderful job. Thank you.

Ellen Newsom

Thank you, thank you for a wonderful trip to Manu!  All the arrangements you made worked out perfectly and we had a great time.  Even the weather was perfect! Muchas Gracias!

Ann & Kim Tomlinson UK

Having completed the 9 day Manu Tour with you we would like to say what an amazing experience we had. Exceeded expectations!! Everyone involved in our tour, driver, boatmen and chef were very professional and helpful. Special mention must go to Danny Vargas, our guide, whose knowledge, energy and expertise made the trip such an amazing experience and so memorable. We have travelled extensively with many excellent guides but have to say that this young man was the best. Please send him our warmest thanks.

Reef and Rainforest Tours UK

COCK OF THE ROCK LODGE – Good Good first night in the jungle. PANTIACOLLA LODGE – Good Basic but nice. AGUAJE TENTED CAMP – Excellent. Loved its remoteness and the wildlife. Great about the addition of the new bathroom. MANU WILDLIFE CENTRE – Excellent Lovely. Guides – Excellent Danny Vargas – Truly outstanding for such a young man. Best wildlife guide we have ever had. Also chef, driver and boatmen were excellent. Quality of wildlife seen – Excellent Danny’s knowledge and expertise were exceptional and his patience with us when we had trouble spotting birds high in the canopy. Also enjoyed his company and sense of humour. Please pass on my thanks to everyone for ensuring they had a wonderful time in the forest!

Lynn Sheehan

We thank you for every minute. David was wonderful,as was everyone else who you employed to help us. Everything went without a hitch. We weren't prepared for the beauty of the Manu Wildlife Centre lodge, nor for the wonderful food. Thanks again,

The UNCG-JBQ group are back and have literally just graduated, after an absolutely amazing trip inside the Rainforest.  By all accounts your team of guides were wonderful and the experiences they had there proved to be both educational AND fun!  I understand our herpetologists may even have converted one of your ardent ornithologists and he now sees the charm of frogs!! From an organizational perspective, you and your colleagues were fantastic and it was a real pleasure to work with you all to make this tour happen, so I sincerely hope we will have an opportunity to send students to you again in the not too distant future.

Novo Mondo Tours Canada

Just a quick note to let you know that we are home safe. We had the most wonderful experience and wanted to congratulate you on the way you operated our program. Panchito and Santos were superb and kept us safe. Aurelio did an impeccable job with the food and the guide was fantastic. We achieved our goal of getting a general education about the rainforest of Manu.  Thanks a million for putting together such a memorable trip which I will now offer to our clients. The only property I will NOT recommend or include in any of our programs would bet the  Machiguenga Lodge.  Abandoned and depressing. Not sure how is running this project but they should be fired from their jobs. During the land portion of the trip Alejandro was fantastic. Long days for him but he never once changed his driving speed or took risks.

The Classic Inca trail ride was a wonderful way to see the Inca Heartland and a little known archaeological site – a top-notch ride

Manu Expeditions excelled in getting us “out there” to maximize wildlife and in providing an outstanding guide, David. They take the “expedition” part in Manu Expeditions seriously and gave us every opportunity to enjoy and appreciate what Manu had to offer. No napping at the jungle lodge! A few little things that added to the trip:  Our first meeting together at Cock of the Rock lodge we had mini Pisco Sours, a nice, authentic touch. Our chef prepared many delicious lunches on the boat where the captain just slowed down a little so we could eat, but we did not pull over or stop, so we could cover more ground and improve our timing. One day David forgot his water bottle, and we did not even know it until our morning outing had ended at almost noon.  The final day when we had an early afternoon plane to catch, the importance of ME’s outstanding coordination was evident as we made many flawless connections of various modes of transport with drivers/boat captains waiting for every leg of the journey over the course of about 6 hours. Bing, bing, bing and we arrived at the airport about an hour earlier than planned. ME's drivers were also excellent, whether it was the van driver or boat captain. That second motor provided confidence too, should anything go wrong with motor #1. Nothing did. I think Manu Expeditions attracts fun and interesting people who like the outdoors, just by the type of trips the company offers.  It was an outstanding trip.  Hi again to David!   Muchas Gracias,

Barry, many thanks for the report. Just wanted to say that it was a fantastic trip. Really high quality birds with (for example) Lanceolated Monklet, Chestnut-crested Cotinga, Military Macaw, etc. etc. Silverio is a phenomenal guide; his ability to find birds by sound then visually locate them is as good as it gets.

Bill Grossi - Tolleson, AZ, USA

Hi Barry. First of all, I want to say I really enjoyed the trip.  Logistically, all went well, and Silverio was excellent!! All in all, I believe the tour was well worth the cost, and I will recommend it to anyone who asks.   Happy New Year.

Chris and Rosemary Lester - Australia

Hi Barry, We had a great time. We saw a tremendous number of birds and missed few target species.  We also saw quite a good number of great mammals.  So, from a natural history viewpoint, the trip was excellent. Organisationally, it also went very well with few problems apparent to us.  Fred is a great guide, who knows his birds and bird sites very well.  He works very hard at looking after his customers.  And, he is very good company. Obviously, we enjoy our trips with him and recommend him highly to others.

Raymond Jeffers - UK

I have returned to the UK from Colombia via a week in Cyprus. Many thanks to you and Fabrice for putting together and executing a great trip. It will live long in the memory with some great highlights. The leader was great in getting us on to most of the endemics.

Judy Adams

Our tour with Silverio will always be one of our fondest memories.

Elissa M. Landre, Director - Mass Audubon's - Broadmoor Wildlife Sanctuary

You were all a great organizing and support team for the Mass Audubon Peru trip last month. Your operations manager, Mary, earned special thanks when a schedule transportation strike threatened to keep us from getting to Machu Picchu. I don’t know how she managed to get us on flights from Boca Manu, on a late train from a distant station, to Machu Picchu the evening before the strike, and into hotel rooms. Everything had to be rescheduled and she did this smoothly and so the travelers hardly knew there was a problem.  Manu Expeditions, and especially their operations manager, as real professionals. Travel in Peru is not easy or predictable, and knowing she was keeping track and making things work out your guide and me to focus on nature and not worry about logistics. A huge Thank You!

Andrew Spencer

I just got back from the Barbet camp... and from a great experience there!  The birding there was excellent, and I got a number of barbets, pictures of barbets, and recordings of barbets.  Other interesting things include: Andean Laniisoma, Roraimain Fly, Jet Manakin, many Scarlet-breasted Fruiteaters, Yungas type Manakins (lots of Ocellated WC and some Long-tailed WC, and in general excellent flock birding. Again, a huge thanks for all your help with this!  That was a dream bird for me, and I'm so happy to have finally caught up with it.

Richard Hughes - Burbank CA - USA

You ( Huw Lloyd) are a real "class act". Of course, it goes without saying, that your birding expertize, and your skills as a guide are simply superb. But your skills with people go far beyond that. From the very beginning, it was apparent to me that you sized up each person in the group, and somehow tried to deliver their expections. You certainly managed to deliver mine.

Melissa Banthorpe - UK

We had a brilliant time in Peru and have only praise for the way in which it all went. Renzo was a superb guide as well as being someone we really got on with well.

Joan Renninger

Our guides were superb Huw was particularly adept in his verbal descriptions of bird locations - I could find the birds easily by following his directions.

Ann and Dick Walker

Please keep us informed of any birding trips in the future. We would really enjoy another birding trip with you.

Ramsay Koury

The bird guides were excellent and did there best to show us as many birds as possible. The birding was good to excellent.

Cindy Williams

The guide was exceptional in all aspects, especially on finding and identifying birds and took great care of us

Phyllis Wilburn

The logistics of the trip were incredible and Manu Expeditions should be commended for putting it all together. The people and services at the lodges were fantastic and the food unbelievable. All in all I saw 270 new species of birds.

Tim Fitzpatrick

I wanted to let you know that Mary and the supporting cast did a great job with my recent Manu birding trip. Both Huw and Renzo were excellent both with the birds and the participants.

Simon Peile - South Africa

The trip went very well and Huw deserves a lot of credit for that. Having myself led trips around Peru and other South American countries in the past I know the complexities involved. To have someone like Huw who can combine his significant knowledge of the birds and their calls with the patience to guide a group of bird tourists, while also being able to manage the logistics and the group dynamics is, I am sure, rare.

Jean and Roger Staples - UK

Just a few lines to thank you for a great 4 week tour. We had high expectations of this trip, both in terms of birding, and the experience as a whole. We were not disappointed. Renzo's birding skills were exceeded only by his personal charm, and Silverio's ability to find stationary birds in dense understory was remarkable. Their patience and help enabled us to see and identify birds which would otherwise have been well beyond our knowledge and skills. Also remarkable was the fact that the whole tour went through with hardly a hitch. Given the circumstances and the terrain, this was no mean achievement. I am very glad, that I opted to go with Manu Expeditions. Thank you very much indeed, for what was, for us, a fabulous birding experience.

Bill Porteous - Panama

Saw some excellent birds, and I saw them all superbly well, and I was really well looked after. Renzo is a first class guide, as you know, and Aurelio a first class cook, providing something different and really tasty at every meal. I understand that Emiliano is a relatively new employee, so I need to tell you that he is a real marvel. He took that little bus through some seriously bad stretches of road calmly and in perfect safety, and he never put a foot wrong during the whole trip. Great stuff!

Derek and David Sparkes - UK

My brother and I have just returned from a month's birdwatching on two of your Peruvian tours with Huw Lloyd as our guide. Other than two small issues (see later) the experience was marvellous and the organisation superb. Huw was an unbelievably talented birder and the driver, cook and boatmen were excellent. We saw cartloads of birds and had a great time.

Richard Goldman

We been back from our trip with Fabrice for a few days and I wanted to give you some feedback. First, Fabrice was an exceptional guide, one of the best that we've encountered in many years of travel. We appreciated and were impressed by his depth of knowledge and enthusiasm, not just about birds but also about other creatures, plants and the whole ecosystem. He made sure that we were well taken care of everywhere that we stayed. And he was just great fun to travel with. We'll look forward to being with him again some day. My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed the experience. It felt like a great adventure and I was able to come up with some great photo images. The food and accommodations were for the most part better than we had expected.

Ron Jensen - Canada

I want to say thank you very much for a wonderful birding experience, your enthusiasm and seemingly endless energy for finding those hard to see species. I hope to have the opportunity to participate in another birding trip which you are involved. I would like to hear of your trips with potential for others to join.

Bill and Liz Heinsen

We were totally pleased with the Manu trip and especially with the services you provided. Your willingness to share your knowledge and experiences made this one of our most memorable experiences. For now, feliz navidad, amigo. May you have the best year ever in 2011 and the best Christmas ever this weekend.

Joe Crichton - Canada

The recent trip was a success. Thanks for the organization. I have nothing to complain about, which is a good thing because it meant that everything went exactly as planned. Silverio was excellent. We very quickly learned how to work together and he was a great pleasure to work with. He took command during the day. Being a native Peruvian was a real bonus for my clients. I loved his sense of humour and I plan to keep in touch with him. I would not hesitate to have him as the bird guide on the next trip, or recommend him to people who might be planning to do Peru on their own and need your guidance.

Timo Lahti - Finland

Thanks for the trip report. We truly had a great tour with superb organization and expert guidance.

Kevin Loughlin Wildside Nature Tours - USA

We had a wonderful trip, thank you! Doris is a fantastic guide. Very well rounded as a birder, naturalist and culture/historian! We want her to be our guide again in 2011. No question.

Pearl Jordan - USA

Dear Barry, Thank you for this report. Your species annotations are most helpful. Thank you again for an excellent trip.

Georgia and Barrie Ashby

We travelled with Silverio and the trip was spectacular.

Daan Sandee - UK

I especially want to praise Silverio Duri, who was maybe the best native guide we have ever had.

Margaret Welby - UK

Hi Barry, Just to let you know our trip went very well and thank you for all the arrangements, up to the usual high standard, and we all thought Doris was an excellent guide. She is very knowledgeable on all sorts of things

Jerry Wozniak - USA

Thank you for the great peru trip. i have to give full credit of appreciation to fabrice, for being such a great guide. personable, patient, knowledgeable, friendly, sincere, conscientious, giving and caring--and silly. he held it altogether and made it memorable and worthwhile. kudos to him. you are fortunate to have a great guide--and person--like him. well done, lad!

James E. Brown - USA

(Silverio) is very likeable and one of the top birders I have ever travelled with, and I have gone on nearly 20 birding trips.

Barbara Sherman - USA

Karen & I arrived safely back in the US this morning. We really appreciate all of the coordinating you did on our behalf. We had a fabulous time! Both Oscar and Silverio were excellent birding guides.

Sylvia Nye – USA

I was on the trip back May with Silverio with the Edward Thompson group. I have wanted to drop a line and send my thoughts over the trip. It was all so well planned, loving the lodging, and transportation with everyone so helpful and most of all knowledgeable. I can’t say enough wonderful things about Silverio, he has such a vast knowledge of the birds and environment of Peru—not just looking at a bird but hearing, finding them amongst the heavy thickets of bamboo or near the water—what an eye (and ears)! You are very fortunate to have him as a guide, professional but also social and also very capable. Thank you so much for such a wonderful trip.

Bernard Couronne – France

Just a few words to say thank you for the fantastic arrangements for our holiday-everything went very well and all the guides were excellent
Gordon Ellis – Chair Neotropical Bird Club UK
Both tours, with Silverio and then with Fabrice, were excellent : very friendly and lots of goodies, Puna Tinamou, Markham's and Ringed Storm-Petrel with Silverio (almost frozen in Putre !), Puma, Rufous-vented Ground-Cuckoo, Uniform Crake and many more with Fabrice.

John Ward – UK

Hello - I was on the trip with Legacy Tours (Michael Carmody) to Peru.  We had the pleasure of having a wonderful young man, Ricardo, as one of our guides.  He did a super job in making sure everyone got to see as many birds as possible.  His patience, humor, and caring made for a wonderful trip.  I wish him the best, because he certainly is one of the best and it was such a joy to have him with us.

Sincerely, Brenda Johnson, Idaho Falls, Idaho, USA

It was a fabulous tour, thanks [Fabrice] for the big effort you put in. I’m delighted with the lifers I got – 203.

Russell & Marian USA

Mr Walker: In October my wife and I went to Peru on a birding trip arranged by Michael Carmody. Both of our guides were very good. In addition to his ability to find and Identify birds, Percy,s knowledge of Peruvian history was excellent. I had been to Machu Picchu twice previously, but I found Percy,s tour much better than the previous ones. Hi Everyone! I just wanted to tell everyone what a great time we had with all of you.  I'm sorry we couldn't do the extension with everyone, as it sounds like you had a great time there, too.  I really appreciate how everyone got along so well together and it made a great trip even greater.  That's a stunning picture of the Andean Potoo, Jim. Thanks for your company!

Dear Mary and Barry: My husband and I went on the birding trip to Peru trip coordinated by Legacy Tours in Sept.-Oct. 2012. Although this note is belated, be assured that we both appreciated the work of your staff in coordinating the trip, providing suggestions to Michael Carmody about the itinerary, accommodations, etc., and especially for the work of the guides.  I can tell you that it was a trip of a lifetime for both of us: amazing flora and fauna made more so by the expertise of Siverio and Richard, unforgettable scenery and people, travel on roads and via rivers that made us appreciate the skills of the drivers and boatmen, and friendly people that provided good service at the eco-lodges. The Manu Wildlife Center is a unique and special place that we felt privileged to visit. Although we have made several birding trips to Mexico, this was our first trip to South America. Dear Barry & Mary First off both Jan and I want to thank you for organizing and providing a wonderful trip to Peru.  The trip exceeded our expectations. Each day went off without a noticeable problem from our perspective.  We know that such a successful tour was because of your over all planning and due to Silvero’s and Percy’s  working diligently each day to solve any problems with birding, transportation, lodging, food and cultural site visits that occurred along the way.  The two guides you provided were excellent – Silvero was especially good at knowing where to find the target birds and once located making sure each member of the group saw the bird.    Thanks again and we would gladly recommend your company to anyone interested in visiting Peru.

Russell & Marian Frobe -USA

Hi, We were recently on the Peru trip organized by Michael Carmody of Legacy Tours.  We were very happy with everything organized by Manu Expeditions and loved every minute of our trip.  Our two guides, Silverio Duri and Richard Amable, were wonderful.  Both of them knew so much about the birds and the area and were personable and kind to us people who had no idea what to look for.
Sincerely,

Kevin and Janie Vaughan

Just a quick note to say how much we enjoyed our trips in Peru and Chile. Found Silverio a great guide and had a great trip with him. Your support guys on the Birdquest trip were a good team and certainly added to the enjoyment of the trip and we had a most enjoyable visit with the guys you organized for us in Chile. Appreciated the fact that the vehicles had seatbelts for the passengers.

Jim Watt - Canada

I want to thank you very much for leading such an excellent trip to the high Andes this September. I had a great time and enjoyed myself thoroughly. I even survived the winter camping.

David Speiser - USA

I did want to thank you for a great trip. Overall, we had a great time and the birds certainly did not disappoint. In Peru, including my day on the coast I saw or heard over 600 species. I will highly recommend your services and hope to return to the Northern part of Peru in the near future.

Adam Winer

I was also on the Northern Peru Birding tour your company organized and I need to say I was blown away by the quality of the ground crew supplied for us, as was everyone else in our group. They went far above and beyond the call of duty.

Keith Dawson - Canada

I was impressed by the ability of the guides to find and show us the special and rare endemic birds on the North Peru tour - excellent job. Your guides certainly are great birders.

John Rothman

I just got back from the Northern Peru trip led by Huw. I wanted to report how much I enjoyed the trip. Huw was excellent with the birds as well as with the group.

Charlotte and Marchal Fuller - USA

Dear Barry, This e-mail should have been written last fall. I believe that I have the names right: Donato was our cook and Americo was our driver on a trip with Eustace into NW Peru last September. Both Marchal and I want you to know how outstanding these two are. They were helpful above and beyond and always pleasant. Each did his job professionally and with excellence. This added enormously to our sense of security and pleasure. The trip was a huge success, and both of these men played a significant part in it. Many thanks to all three of you.

Stuart Housden - RSPB Scotland

Dear Barry and Maria (and team), Thank you very much for planning our trip and leading it so well. We are all home safely and once the 7 hour time difference has worn off will be able to savor the memories with even more enthusiasm. Thank you for looking after us so well.

Guy Moody - USA

We had a wonderful trip with a fabulous guide, really funny (something we definitely prize), incredibly knowledgeable, and just a fine person we can now call friend. We haven’t had time to update our life list yet, but I’m estimating we saw at least 275 lifers and most we really got to observe. He had a wealth of information to share and is so good at finding the birds. We also loved our morning with Wilma at Machu Picchu. She, too, shared a wealth of information with us. I can’t say enough about the quality of the service we received from our drivers, the boat service, staff at the lodges.

Annette Jeffers – USA

Even though it’s been over 4 years since I traveled w/Manu Expeditions, and I have been all over the world with, I still describe the Manu/Abra Malaga/Machu Picchu trip as the best ever, and Silverio as the sharpest, most capable and personable guide I have even traveled with.

Andrew Stevenson - Scotland

Just a quick email to say thanks for the quality birding on the recent Abra Malaga/Machu Picchu trip  Please pass on my thanks again to Silverio who was a fantastic leader.
Also the additional day with Jean-Paul at Lomas de Lachay was excellent with all the likely key species located before noon! – even got photos of Raimondi’s Yellow finch.
cheers,

Kathleen Houghton - USA

We have just returned from Peru and a perfect birding trip to the Manu area. Everything went smoothly, thanks to your excellent planning and the skilled drivers and guide. Huw is a talented, good-humored guide who kindly adjusted the tour to our limited birding experience.

Joe Crighton -Wildbird Tours - Canada

Had to pass along our heartfelt thanks to you and your organization. Things went perfectly. Lynda and I were so impressed with all your people. Especially Mary and Marco. Mary guided us through your operation. She was friendly, gracious and professional. We were impressed and look forward to seeing her again. A couple of more people to praise were Jesus on the river but especially Rudy our bus driver on the Manu Road.

Riley Atkins - USA

We also want to acknowledge the guides, Huw, Silverio, and Percy. Each reflects the high professional standards we expected from Manu Expeditions. What was an added bonus was the personal touch each contributed to make our trip enjoyable and a success. Huw’s discussions about his efforts to protect polylepis forests throughout the Andes was encouraging. Our dinner conversations with Silverio about his leadership to develop his community’s ecotourism business were revealing about what is happening in Amazonia. And Percy’s extra efforts on a hot day to ensure we saw all the birds at Huecarpay Lake was appreciated.

Maria Rodríguez - USA

I have now been at home a week after the birding tour in Peru. I just want to tell you that I am very, very satisfied with the trip! Fabrice was an excellent guide who worked very hard to try to show us all the birds. Before the trip I filled in the form what birds I wanted to see during the trip. I wrote antpittas, antthrushes and trumpeters. And I managed to see no less than FIVE species of antpittas, three antthrushes and a group of five trumpeters in the last minute. I think that is fabulous. Please send my warmest regards to Fabrice!   Just a note to let you know that I had a fantastic time on the Cloud Forest birding trip in SE Peru. Silverio is a brilliant guide and did his utmost to make sure that each of us had a chance to see the birds. Aside from his excellent birding skills.

Steve Stein - USA

I wanted to thank you for putting me in touch with Barry Walker of Manu Expeditions to do a Peru birding tour. You may not remember me, but I had signed up for one of your tours and when it didn't work out, you put me in contact with Barry. I did his Manu Rserve tour, with a few extra days around Puerto Maldonado and Lima, this past November/December and it was fantastic - the birds, the organization, the guides !!!

Julian Donahue – USA

Muchas gracias, Silverio! What a fantastic report--it brings back great memories. And in plenty of time; I still have not recorded our observations in my database, so your report will help refresh my memory--and memories. We had such a fine time with you, we would like to do it again, this time perhaps in the northwest, and a chance to see the Marvelous Spatuletail.

Anne Murray - Nature Guides BC - Canada

Hi Rosario and Barry: Len and I have now returned to Canada after an extended overseas trip and would like to thank you very much for the arrangements you made for our trip to Manu Wildlife Centre via the Manu Road. It was an outstanding holiday for us and Percy Avendaño did a terrific job of guiding us. The services provided by our driver, Americo, and all the other staff were superlative. Since it was our first time in Amazonia, almost all the 400+ birds we managed to record in the 6 day trip were new to us, as well as the numerous other wildlife species, viz capybara, many monkey species, giant otters, three caiman species, and even a magnificent view of a jaguar. We will certainly recommend the trip and Manu Expeditions to other birding and nature enthusiasts, and hope very much to come on another tour one day. Please thank the crew from us once again.

Waldo Brouwer - The Netherlands

Late, but never too late to let you know I enjoyed a wonderful "Manu Biosphere Reserve" trip this summer. Great birds and even the "San Pedro Tanager" and Fabrice is a top guide (so quick in determination). Compliments.
Warm regards

Debby Reynolds - UK

First we all want to thank you and all the backup team for fantastic service and great birding adventure. We certainly think Manu Expeditions does a very good job. We can unreservedly recommend the Cusco and Manu components to any UK birders. A foremost star of the show was Silverio, who certainly counts as one of the best bird tour guides any of us has been with over many decades of worldwide trips. He has spectacular vision, great ears, enormous charm, energy, diplomacy and impressive knowledge of birds in Peru.

Bill Heinsen - Canada

It was just incredible. Everything was so well organized, the staff so efficient, the food excellent, our guide, I don’t know how he could have been better. I know it is not easy to juggle around the expectations of birders, but he did it. We were given absolute patience in trying to accommodate each of us and making sure we got our money’s worth made everything flawless. He was knowledgeable in so many ways. You certainly got a gem of a guide when you hired him. The drivers, like all our your staff were excellent, and very accommodating. The two men who looked after us on the river were superb. We felt totally safe in their hands. You can be certain that we will recommend Manu Expeditions to anyone we hear of wanting an excellent birding experience in Peru

Tony and Trish Allingham - Australia

Earlier this year we had an amazing trip with Manu Expeditions, led by Silverio Duri, along the Manu Road and into the Manu Biosphere Reserve. Silverio's knowledge was boundless and he ensured that whatever we did suited our interests and abilities. Without Silverio's keen eyes and ears we would not have seen as many species as we did on the trip. He was also very good company. If we travel to Peru again, we will be wanting Silverio to guide us. We would also like to recommend the efforts and ability of our driver on the Manu Road. This road is not for the feint hearted but our driver managed to navigate the road very safely and gave us great confidence in being in his care. Finally, the accommodations and meals and associated staff were also very good.

Gloria and Jeb Baldi - USA

First, I wish to thank you for the reliable airport pick-up you sent us on October 3rd.  It was so reassuring to arrive late at night and have Victor and his father, Manuel, at the gate to retrieve us.   Secondly, my husband and I want to let you know that the quality of the Manu guides, Silverio and Percy, was just outstanding.  We are sure you are well aware of Silverio's abilities as a bird guide and naturalist, and we were so impressed with his unique background, as well as, his guiding and managing abilities with a group of our size.   However, we also want to let you know that Percy was outstanding and effective in directing and educating us.  He was an extremely knowledgeable bird guide, as well as, giving us a wealth of information on any historical aspect or question we asked about Peru.  He was diplomatic in all situations that required diplomacy.............and such a joy to be with.........definitely an asset to any trip. We enjoyed our experiences in Peru, and know that both these men were the main reason we did so. Again, thank you ever so much.

Terry Moore - USA

Hi, I'm just writing to say how much I enjoyed your Manu/Peruvian birding expedition. The venues were fun and classy, the food was great, Peru was strange, wonderful and fascinating and, of course, the birds amazing. I'd also like to give my warmest praise for Silverios' birding expertise and his enthusiasm for sharing the rich variety of species and his willingness to help even the most challenged birders (like me!) find the, sometimes very difficult, birds to see. Both of men were very warm, engaging and professional and even though they've probably met many, many people through these expeditions, in the end, I felt like we'd become good friends.   Congratulations!

Jeanine Felker - USA

Dear Barry and Mary, As a recent participant in the first Legacy tour to Peru, Michael Carmody has asked us to send you a critique.  In addition to touring with Legacy, I have also been on tours with Victor Emanuel Nature Tours, Wings, Sunbird and Field Guides.  I have been with many guides with varying skills and personalities. In regards to Ricardo, I found him to be extremely knowledgeable about not only the birds but also, the plants and  animals, as well as the history of Peru.  He showed great care and concern for the comfort and safety of the group (at times, he anticipated what we would need before we realized that we needed it).  We had a couple of participants who required extra time and help.  Ricardo was consistently patient and courteous with them.  On more than one occasion, I had a chance to talk with him on a variety of subjects and found him to be a delightful conversationalist. He did an outstanding job of dealing with the entire group and all of the variables.

Kent Lennert - USA

By the way, the Manu Expeditions crew on this trip is outstanding. The Food in the field was the best. In fact everything they did for us was Outstanding. Their field meals beat all meals in restaurants and hotels. My compliments to your staff. I have just finished the Central Peru trip with Fabrice and it was great. Fabrice did a great job and I would recommend him to anyone. Knows the birds and pleasant to be with.

Kraig Kemper

Barry - Kathy and I wanted to thank all of you for a great October trip to Tumbes and Northern Peru. Besides great birds (Lemon-rumped Tanager, Marvelous Spatuletail Plain-tailed Warbling Finch, etc), interesting habitats (the Manglares de Tumbes, the Tumbes Reserve Area)and spectacular landscapes (view of the Maranon from Abra Barra Negro), the trip was made even more special by your staff.  Guillermo, Hilmar, Ramiro, Raul, and Fortunato were wonderful; they were always courteous, helpful and supportive in addition to providing great food and excellent driving.  Having had my own business now for 25 years, I know I am only as good as the staff representing me and you are fortunate to have such staff!

Robin Leong - California USA

Folks are still asking about my {Colombia} trip. Having the pictures of some of the stars of that we saw are definite a plus when telling them about what we saw. Barry, thanks for providing seamless transportation logistics. Only one 4-wheel driver that overslept to pick us up at the Cerulean Warbler ecolodge marred a perfect record, and there were many, many exchanges! I fully appreciate how you "trained" the drivers to be on time.

Gary Graham - USA

Barry, I wanted to send you a quick note of appreciation for a fantastic trip where we say an exceptional number of birds and had exceptional quality experiences throughout the trip.  Jose Antonio was excellent - one of the best birding guides I've ever worked with and with very good people skills.  The other ME staff were also first class making the trip both efficient (rare in Peru) and very memorable for Mac, Larry and me.  It may be 10 years before I make the trip again but I will make it again and I will use ME for that trip too.

Nigel Hewitt - UK

Dear Barry, At last I have found a moment to say thank you again for an excellent [Guyana] trip. As you rightly commented, as the memories of the heat, insects and pretty average food disappear into the past, the memories of the birds we saw continue to improve. I believe that we were honored, and a bit lucky, to see so many difficult and rare species (the luck certainly applies to Sun Parakeet and Harpy Eagle.) Both David and I enjoyed travelling with you.

Kent Lannert Illinois - USA

Just returned from a month in Peru with Fabrice and Silverio. A great trip. Both Fabrice and Silverio did a wonderful job. Both Kathy and I enjoyed both of them very much. Both were great birders and were wonderful company as well. Great senses of humor. Fun to be with. They both worked very hard for us and I ended up seeing more lifers than expected.

David G. Davis Arlington, Virginia - USA

I am writing to express our appreciation and commendations for the outstanding job performed by Manu Expeditions during our recent 2-week tour in Manu Peru.  Manu Expeditions made the lodging and other accommodations, provided transportation and drivers, provided birding guides and handled all the other on-the-ground tasks that make for a successful tour.  We could not have been pleased more in any aspect of the support provided by Manu.  Our guide was absolutely excellent, both in terms of bird finding and identification skills, in handling necessary logistical support, and in dealing with 5 sometimes tired and overwhelmed travelers.  Our drivers were both competent and cool-headed, the latter of which is a true survival skill on the treacherous mountain roads of the Manu Highway.   Our vehicles, including our boat and its crew on the Madre de Dios, were first-rate.

Linda M. Ingram Ceiba Nature Tours - USA

Silverio was an excellent guide, very good company, and very much in control of the situation at all times.   Importantly, we all had a lot of fun sharing conversation with him.  Bus driver Rene was outstanding; I’ve never felt safer on such challenging road conditions.  (When encountering another vehicle going down the mountains I heard someone say “I feel sorry for them – they don’t have Rene”.)

Janet And Pat Warwick Norfolk - UK

Hope you are well and have had time to put up your  feet  before you go off on your next tour We have spent time looking at the birds that we saw and also looking at our photo's and the places we were able to visit thank you for a great time Also for passing on abundance of facts about the history of the Incas and during the journey.

Michelle Wells Rockjumper Birding Tours

It's Michelle here from Rockjumper, I hope you are well. We are thrilled to give you feedback from David Davis and his family with wonderful news for you all at Manu Expeditions. On behalf of Rockjumper birding we would like to congratulate you all for a fantastic tour, excellent service and job well done!

Huw Buck - Scotland

Thoroughly enjoyed Manu and the extension and claimed nearly 60 lifers. I thought Silverio the sharpest eared / eyed and most dedicated guide I have ever encountered

Delight Gartlein - New Zealand

Our guide, Percy Avendano, was superb, 100% dedicated to finding the birds, always cheerful and good humoured, and our driver, Julian, was the very best. Hope to see you in New Zealand, one of these days, or maybe on a Wings tour in Arizona.

George Kinter - USA

A short note to say that the Manu trip exceeded my expectations, birdwise (despite my declining abilities), mam malwise (highlighted, as you probably know, by a long and close view of a handsome male jaguar lounging on a riverbank), and peoplewise (the guide who had incredible knowledge not only of birds, their habits and calls, but also many other aspects of the rainforest, to everyone else from Manu Expeditions who worked so hard to make our trip the success it was). My thanks go to all involved.

Chris Goodie - UK

Just a mailette to send you a belated but nonetheless huge THANK-YOU to you and your team for organising our recent 'Gooddie-and-friends' Rosenberg-extravaganza trip so flawlessly. The logistics are pretty complicated relative to other trips I've done, and everything was done with a seamless attention to detail; your field and backroom staff are a credit to Manu Expeditions to a man/woman. Having spent so long planning the damn thing our expectations were pretty high, but the reality exceeded even our lofty imaginings.

Nick Blackwood - UK

What a wonderful three weeks - thank you. Exciting, exhausting, enthralling,  overwhelming, hot, wet, bright, biting, glorious, inspiring, imposing ....   You´ll have heard it all before. Renzo was simply marvellous. The most attentive, unfailingly courteous, unendingly patient, enthusiastic, amusing and professional guide it has been my privilege to bird with. And his knowledge of the birds and their calls, wildlife in general and the bush was simply astonishing. The whole trip was carried off so efficiently - not a single hitch in three weeks. Anyway I wish you and the whole of your group a very happy Christmas and successfulnew year. This is not the last you have heard of me.

Tim and Karen Fiedler - USA

I am writing to express our appreciation and commendations for the outstanding job performed by Manu Expeditions during our recent 2-week tour in Peru. Although our contractual agreement was with another company, who handled the planning and general itinerary for us, they contracted the actual work in Peru to your organization. As such, Manu Expeditions made the lodging and other accommodations, provided transportation and drivers, provided birding guides and handled all the other on-the-ground tasks that make for a successful tour. We could not have been pleased more in any aspect of the support provided by Manu. Our guide Silverio Duri was absolutely excellent, both in terms of bird finding and identification skills, in handling necessary logistical support, and in dealing with 5 sometimes tired and overwhelmed travellers. Just wanted to thank you again for arranging our jaunt to Mantanayoc and to say how very much we enjoyed Silverio – he is a delightful fellow and a very good guide.  I also want to commend Aurelio, Walter and Alejandro, all of whom did everything possible to make the main trip a successful and comfortable experience for all – and always with smiles too!  The food, of course, was especially good - they are a great crew and I look forward to travelling with them again on the N. Peru trip in Nov.

 Lynn Dunlap - USA

I'm writing to express my deepest appreciation for the tour I took through Manu and Legacy Tours. It was my first visit to Peru, and I didn't have a very clear sense of what to expect. I am so very happy to say that everything about the tour was wonderful. I was very appreciative of the logistical aspects of the tour. The hotels and lodges were great.  And the meals were substantial and delicious. I was especially delighted by our alfresco lunches on the road--and very appreciative of snack packs we received while traveling. The complex arrangements for transportation were handled smoothly. The buses and boats were comfortable and the drivers and boatmen conscientious.

Respectfully,

Andy and Alison Rhodes - UK

We would like to thank you both for our recent trip to Manu. It was well planned and well organized and one of the most enjoyable trips we have done. We loved the lodges, the itinerary with boats, canopy towers and selection of habitats was always fascinating. The guides, boatmen and driver were good at their job and good company, the food was really good at all the stops and the Hotel\Airport taxi links were spot on. Thank you very much indeed

Kay Goodhue - USA

Thanks, Fabrice, for such a full {Guyana} report.  I wanted to let you know that I ended up with 19 lifers. So many - thanks for your extra efforts on my behalf. And with Cornell's "Updates and corrections" I'm around 7,200 now - and still counting. Bye and thanks again for a safe, satisfying tour.

Jan Smith - USA

I am home from the NE Brazil trip. We had a great trip, seeing 419 species plus some interesting mammals and nearly all of the targeted specialty birds, Fred was a remarkable guide. His ability and persistence in looking for birds was exceptional. We had great views of nearly the entire list of antbirds which was pretty unbelievable to me, plus excellent views of nearly all the targeted specialty species that we sought after, a great credit to Fred's abilities.

Alistair McGiven - United Kingdom

Just wanted to let you know that I had a really fantastic trip. We saw over 340 species in 7 days including all the main target species - Plantcutter, White-Winged Guan, Marvellous Spatulatail, both Crescentchests, Little Inca-Finch etc. The leader was really nice company and a top class birder. His knowledge of birdsong was invaluable, particularly for the flycatchers. I enjoyed travelling with him.
